I stopped highlighting halfway through this piece because it all should be highlighted. These are the hard truths most rank and file Democrats refuse to face. Because then they'd have to admit democracy in America is a sham. You might as well say you no longer believe in God. People…

Well, well, well, some of these seem familiar, I'll take them in the order I read them and add some of my own.

The Three Stooges: when I was really young (like 4-5), there was a kid's show in Cleveland called "Captain Penny." (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Captain_Penny)

If you're from there, you'll have…

Perhaps Instagram can be thought of as "The Incel's Revenge."

There were a few episodes of "Black Mirror" that dealt with this objectification and you are right - the algorithm guides everyone. It is the same on You Tube and it has led to disastrous results, especially for children.

A…

I guess I would have a hard time writing about my personal experiences with C-PTSD since you've done such a great job covering it here. No one understands how much this sucks. I also have a Borderline diagnosis and there is a lot of arguing in psychiatric circles about the…

Wow. "God's plan." Like Auschwitz. Let go and let God. I wish God would let go and stop punishing me.

I'm only using your paradigm here. I was raised Catholic. God knows and sees all - always was and always will be. Therefore it stands to reason, like the people…

Nailed it Mia. I have the same issues - horrible self-talk, negative self-image. Although I now know where they come from, it doesn't mean I can stop it. How easy it is, when I make a very simple mistake, to verbalize "idiot!" And it feels right to me because at that second, I feel I am justified to call myself and idiot.

It all comes from my father.

I started binge watching Bojack some time ago and trailed off and never saw this episode so I will have to resume. I started watching when I read somewhere that Bojack was the most Borderline Personality Dis-ordered character on TV. Being BPD that sucked me in. And I have to agree. It can very subtle at times, but I see my own behavior in the way he interacts with others. It's scary sometimes.

Anyway, great job and you've earned a follower.

Male with C-PTSD here (and also BPD and GAD for good measure).

Sometimes it seems like most of America is dealing with some form of PTSD because, well, living in this mad society means being exposed to an almost constant state of trauma and anxiety, especially if one happens to…

Can this nation produce inspirational leaders anymore?

Photo by Samantha Sophia on Unsplash

I was born when JFK was president. I only mention that to mark the passage of time and to reflect on the character of American leadership then and now.

If you want to sob uncontrollably, contrast the words of Kennedy to anything spoken by the current candidates for office —…

The problem with that is. . .

The cops come and throw you to the ground and cuff you, stick you in the back of the car, drive you to Western Psych where you feel like you are being put in a jail and then there's the horrors that come…

I'm glad I found your writing. I think we're on the same wavelength with so many things.

I'm 58, but I've already crossed a certain aging threshold. My closest and dearest friend is now a bottle of Alleve. My God, I think, when did it come to this?

But that…
