Perhaps Instagram can be thought of as "The Incel's Revenge."

There were a few episodes of "Black Mirror" that dealt with this objectification and you are right - the algorithm guides everyone. It is the same on You Tube and it has led to disastrous results, especially for children.

A long time ago (late 90s) when I had a radio show, I used to say that you cannot be sane in America without giving it's culture your middle finger. I still stand by that and you're right, women have it worse.

It's also the pernicious peer pressure that has also ramped up in the age of social media. We're so atomized as people in America that social media has become far more dangerous a shaper of minds than television ever was. And since everyone is on it, you have to be too. Of course, you don't HAVE to be, but if you're not, it will be noticed and talked about - behind your back - which is why so many of these kids believe they HAVE to monitor their peer social groups 24-7 to protect their own reputations.

It's sick. It's a real addiction but this one is worse that any drug because it is backed by big tech money and the tacit approval of our mainline culture.

Is there a solution? Right now, since the hold on these young people is like a steel vise, other than blowing up servers, I have no idea. But things will get worse as we allow our children to be sacrificed to the god of American Capitalism.

Well, one could say I’m a survivor. Former journalist at five daily newspapers and a stint as a radio talk show host. Not a conservative one either.
